Prior to my early morning departure from the city, I went over to the IFFA Convention. It was their last day, and I figured I would share the banner with them as they were leaving. It happened that I did meet one individual who is very well known amongst the FD brotherhood. Alan Albaitis is a firefighter and an amazing artist. His work is widely published throughout the industry. In fact, he designed the Las Vegas uniform patch. It was an exceptional pleasure to meet him, and to have him sign the banner. Unknowing at the time, our paths would cross again later in NYC. It was a nice day for a long drive, and now going east to Denver CO.
