It was officially the start of Labor Day weekend, and we had plans to be with the FD in a presentation with the banner at a public area downtown. We made it to the FD just before noon, and joined them for lunch.

At first I was hesitant to be part of a large crowd with the banner. However, once we set up, the FD had everything under control, and it was a great event. We stayed here for a while, and then went back to the FD for evening time. We were welcome to stay here, and special accommodations were made us.

The FD was facing a very busy street that was the path that many people were using to walk on to go to see the Fire Works display. So we stretched a few sections of the banner out front, and gave more people the opportunity to sign the banner here. This also gave us the occasion to sit and talk with several of the firefighters that also went to NYC to assist in the rescue and recovery efforts after 9/11.
